It took Razer a few additional months to get its most recent 18-inch Blade laptop ready for primetime after we had a glimpse of it at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The 2024 edition of the Razor Blade 18, which has a starting price of $3,099, is now available for purchase for those individuals who have been waiting for the company’s most recent chonkster.

An i9-14900HX CPU, 32 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM), one terabyte of solid-state drive (SSD) storage, Wi-Fi 7, a triple-fan cooling system, and a six-speaker array with support for THX spatial audio are all included in the base system. On the graphics processing unit (GPU) side of things, the laptop can be outfitted with as much as an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 (the base model comes with a 4070 graphics card). There is Thunderbolt 5 connectivity, which Razer claims is a first for a laptop, but it is only available if you choose to go with a 4080 or 4090 graphics processing unit.

When it comes to this laptop, the display is one of the most talked-about features. Standard features include a Mini-LED display with a resolution of QHD+ and a refresh rate of 300Hz. You have the option of selecting a 4K screen with a refresh rate of 200Hz if you are looking for a higher level of fidelity. In light of the fact that the firm announced at CES that the Razer Blade 18 would be available with a 4K display option at 165 hertz, it appears that the company has discovered an additional 35 hertz. Razer asserts that this display is the first of its kind ever to be found on a laptop, and it will cost you an additional $1,700. This is a significant amount more than what a comparable standalone monitor would cost. You will also have to wait until later this summer for a device that ships with a 4K 200Hz panel, but you can already get your hands on one that has a QHD+ display.

We were of the opinion that the model from the previous year was somewhat pricey for a configuration that was completely outfitted, and we are of the same opinion this time around. If, on the other hand, you are in need of a high-end laptop with a large screen that is capable of running virtually any application or game you can think of, the most recent Razer Blade 18 can be yours if you have the financial means to do so.
